Privacy notice
What the development beta collects, why it is used, and what other participants can see.
Information you provide
This includes your email, username, birth date, profile details, dating and marriage goals, faith importance, photos, interests, messages, connection requests, introduction choices, blocks, reports, and privacy settings.
Information created through use
The beta records likes, passes, matches, connection state, feature events, timestamps, and basic technical records supplied by the hosting and database providers. It does not ask for precise GPS location, ward, stake, home address, or temple-recommend status.
How information is used
Information is used to create accounts, show compatible profiles, deliver likes and messages, calculate consent-controlled mutual context, operate introductions, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and understand aggregate beta interest and reliability.
What other participants see
Eligible daters may see your active dating profile. People you like can see that interest, and matches can message. Accepted connections may see the profile context you permit. Mutual names appear only when that person allows it. Your username can be shared for exact connection requests. Your email address is never displayed or offered through search; if you enable email connections, someone who already knows and enters your complete address may send a request. Complete friend lists, birth dates, reports, blocks, and other private account records are not exposed to participants.
Service providers
The beta uses hosting and Supabase database, authentication, and file-storage services to operate. These providers process data on behalf of the project under their own service terms. Data is not sold, and the beta does not use sensitive profile or social-graph data for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Beta data is kept only as long as needed to run and evaluate the test. In-app deletion hides your profile immediately and queues the account for permanent deletion. Limited safety, fraud, or legal records may be retained longer when necessary.
Your choices
You can edit profile details, control introduction and mutual-connection visibility, block or report another account, sign out, or request deletion in the app. A dedicated support address will be published before invitations go beyond the founder’s supervised test group.
Security and limits
The beta uses private photo storage and account-scoped database rules, but no system can promise absolute security. Do not put highly sensitive information in a profile or message.
Independence
Small Plates is an independent project and is not affiliated with Brigham Young University or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
